History of the SICAB Horse Fair in Spain
For over thirty years, since 1991 to be precise, Spain's largest horse fair, the SICAB (Salón Internacional del Caballo de Pura Raza Española), has taken place every November in the Andalusian city of Seville. The founder and organizer of the SICAB is the breeders' association for purebred Spanish horses, the ANCCE (Real Asociación Nacional de Criadores de Caballos de Pura Raza Española). The SICAB horse fair is held in the Seville Congress Center under the patronage of the Spanish royal family. In order to promote and protect the Pura Raza Española horse breed and to increase the breed's popularity worldwide, the ANCCE established an international horse fair in 1991. Today, the SICAB is a reference event for PRE horses at national and international level. The most recent innovation of the SICAB is the inclusion of the PRE World Championship in the equestrian program.
