Bit straps can be used to attach a snaffle bit to the cavesson. This is an option if you want to get young horses used to using a bit. From the saddle, you can initially ride your horse by influencing it with the cavesson and gradually integrate the bit into the aids. It can also be practical for lunging if you have the option of attaching a bit to the cavesson.
