Stylish clothing at Picadera
Not only the horse equipment can reflect the love for Spanish tradition, but also the riding clothing.
Picadera offers a range of traditional riding skirts, hats, boots, spurs and spur straps, as well as fine belts.
Chic riding skirts for the Vaquera
For tournaments, baroque shows or simply for leisure riding: the Vaquera riding skirt is not only elegant but also practical. It combines the advantages of trousers with the look of a Spanish skirt. First fashionable in 1900, it made riding much easier for women. The riding skirt was a milestone in fashion, as women were not allowed to wear trousers before the First World War. This invention also reduced the number of clothes catching on the terrain. The riding skirt is available in four different colors.
Traditional Spanish headgear
Of course, the traditional headgear is a must. Picadera has classic hats and flat caps. Whether for protection against sun, wind and rain, as accessories for your favorite outfit, for everyday life or for tournaments: the hats and caps belong to the Vaqueros and Vaqueras. Made from wool felt, the hats are not only weather and dirt repellent, but also breathable and quick-drying. The elegant satin lining fits perfectly to the head and offers support.
Spanish riding boots, spurs and spur straps
Picadera also provides the right footwear. The Spanish riding boots and ankle boots made of genuine leather ensure a pleasant foot climate and, thanks to the soft material, optimal comfort - whether for stable work, ground work or riding.
Spurs are a common riding aid that allows you to perform exercises with precision and sensitivity. In working equitation and in the dressage arena, precise impulses are important. Working with spurs can help the horse to respond more specifically to the aids, as a smaller area is addressed. In working equitation, for example, this can help with the slalom, which in the WM and WS performance classes must be mastered with flying canter changes. The side pass can also be performed more carefully with spurs.
There are many different spur models. Spike spurs have a small spike that is flattened at the end. Ball spurs have a ball that can rotate depending on the design. Wheel spurs have a small wheel on the spike. This type of spur can roll on the surface it touches. There are versions that have to be attached with a spur strap, others can simply be attached to a shoe or boot. At Picadera you can find spurs with a wheel or ball made of stainless steel and burnished iron, as well as spur straps made of Spanish cowhide.
Spanish accessories
Pretty accessories include belts made of high-quality Spanish leather with a simple silver-colored buckle or a stainless steel buckle in the shape of the traditional Vaquero curb bit.
The perfect leather care
To ensure that the leather remains protected, it must be greased regularly. This guarantees a long-lasting product, as it is less prone to cracking if the leather remains soft and supple. Another advantage is the shine, which makes the material look much more high-quality.
The natural leather soap from Extremadura ensures that worn leather shines again. This leather care product moisturizes the material and has a regreasing effect. It is spread on the leather with a damp sponge and then polished with a dry cloth. For even more intensive care, e.g. for historical saddles that require more care, the natural leather balm can be used afterwards. This balm forms a water-repellent protective film and keeps the material hard-wearing.
