History of the culottes

Trousers in the form of a skirt came into fashion in 1900 and allowed women to wear trousers that were both practical and feminine. Long hikes, cycling or even on cold days - a skirt-pants was and is always the ideal companion. Before the First World War, trousers were taboo for women and so this invention was a milestone in fashion.

From culottes to riding skirt

 In the late 19th century, the "noble lady" rode in the saddle of the same name. However, normal skirts and undergarments hindered proper riding and so the riding skirt was an excellent achievement. In addition, the risk of getting caught on it in the countryside was lower and the woman's legs were not visible. At that time, this was an important criterion for a skirt. Back then, it was heavier and mostly made of wool, but today it is made of highly modern materials.

 The riding skirt is made of 55% polyester and 45% wool. It therefore combines the best properties of a natural material with the advantages of a high-tech material.
