A pad strap or semi-bridle can be used for many purposes - for example, to turn a snaffle bridle into a curb bridle. This is achieved by simply pushing the pad strap through the loops of the browband and under the headpiece. 

This is an option for horses that are to be switched to a curb bit after basic training. This flexible system makes it easy to meet the horse's needs. Not everyone accepts the curb bit straight away, so it is sometimes necessary to take a step back and ride with a snaffle bit again. A pad strap is also very suitable for getting a young horse used to the snaffle bit. For example, by fastening the pad strap to the snaffle bit above the cavesson. The pad strap or semi-bridle can also be used as a separate part for hand work.
