Baucher bridle made of stainless steel with a thin, single-jointed mouthpiece. With a bit thickness of 13 mm, it takes up very little space in the mouth while still distributing pressure evenly. The side parts are equipped with particularly short upper bars, so that collisions in the area of the molars are avoided, even with wedge-shaped horses' heads.

The ring diameter of 4 cm gives the reins a comparatively small range of movement. This means that rein aids are passed on precisely. The direct influence is supported by the fixed side parts, which can only be swivelled inwards and outwards, but have no range of movement up and down.

How does the Baucher bit work?

The Baucher bit is buckled onto the bridle via the short upper bars. This makes it more stable in the horse's mouth, offers lateral adjustment and sags less than, for example, a loose ring snaffle. This means that when the horse chews, it only moves minimally towards the incisors. It is therefore particularly suitable for horses with a short mouth gap and horses that react to more flexible bits with a restless mouth.

When used as a bridle in combination with a curb bit, a collision between the two bits in the mouth can be more easily avoided.

The Baucher bit is used without a chin chain and has no leverage. Instead, when the reins are pulled, the bit moves more towards the corner of the mouth and works there. This has an uprighting effect on many horses. You can find out more about this in this video:

The right size for the Baucher bit

Please note that the side parts should fit tightly to the corners of your horse's mouth. If your horse is unsure between two sizes, we recommend that you choose the next size up for this model.
