Baucher bar made of stainless steel with a thin mouthpiece with classic small tongue clearance. With a bit thickness of 12 mm, it takes up very little space in the mouth while still distributing pressure evenly. The side parts are equipped with particularly short upper bars, so that collisions on the side in the area of the molars are avoided even with wedge-shaped horses' heads.

The ring diameter of 4 cm gives the reins a comparatively small range of movement. This means that rein aids are passed on precisely. The direct influence is supported by the fixed side parts, which can only be swivelled inwards and outwards, but have no range of movement up and down.

How does the Baucher bit work?

The bridle is fastened using the short upper bars. In combination with the unbroken bar, the Baucher bit sits very quietly in the mouth. It is therefore suitable for horses that tend to get restless with a broken mouthpiece and that instead need a stabilizing effect from the bit. The bar mouthpiece with classic tongue clearance is well received by many horses because it lies evenly on the tongue and is cushioned by it. The small tongue clearance relieves pressure on the middle of the tongue.

The Baucher bit is used without a chin chain and has no leverage. Instead, when the reins are pulled, the bit moves more towards the corner of the mouth and has an effect there. This has an uprighting effect on many horses.

The right size for the Baucher bit

In our experience, you can choose the bit size your horse is used to with this model. If your horse is undecided between two sizes, we recommend choosing the next larger size for the Baucher FINO bit. Please note that the side parts should fit tightly to the corners of your horse's mouth - in contrast to a loose ring snaffle, for example, which can have some lateral play.
