It's finally here – the PICADERA Baucher bit 🤩 Developed with the feedback of our customers and our many years of bit experience.
The PICADERA Baucher bit has a straight or slightly forward-curved Mullen Mouth / Mullmouth bar mouthpiece, which follows the horse's anatomy thanks to its curvature. With a bit thickness of 12 mm, it takes up as little space as possible in the horse's mouth and still ensures a flat pressure distribution.
The upper bars are slightly bent outwards to ensure an optimal fit. The upper bars are also slightly shorter at 6 cm than most commercially available Baucher bits, making it easier to adjust them to horses with wedge-shaped heads.
The ring diameter of 5 cm gives the reins optimal freedom of movement, so that rein aids arrive precisely, but minor hand errors are still forgiven.

Effect of the Baucher Bar
The bridle is fastened using the short upper bars on the small rings of the bit. In combination with the unbroken bar, the Baucher bit sits very calmly and stably in the mouth. This has a stabilizing effect, particularly on horses that react to broken bits with great restlessness.
The Mullen Mouth bar mouthpiece is well received by many horses because it sits very evenly on the tongue and is cushioned by it.
The Baucher bit has no leverage due to the lack of a lower bar and is used without a chin chain. When the reins are pulled, the Baucher bar moves more towards the corner of the mouth and has an effect there. This has an uprighting effect on many horses.
The right bridle for the Baucher bit
The Baucher bit can be used with all common bridles. We recommend using a normal noseband, which acts as jaw and neck protection in the event of an unwanted abrupt pull on the reins. We generally advise against using flashing straps – and especially with this type of bit – so that the horse can counteract the pressure from the bar mouthpiece by opening its mouth if necessary. In our range you will only find Bridles with removable noseband or without flash strap.
