Baucher bridle made of gold-colored Sweet Copper with a single-jointed, particularly thin mouthpiece. Bit thickness 12 mm. For an optimal fit - even for horses with a wedge-shaped head - the upper bars are slightly bent outwards. Also suitable as a snaffle. Sweet Copper's sweet taste encourages the horse to chew and can therefore improve the horse's permeability and acceptance of the bit. Sweet Copper is also nickel-free and therefore does not cause allergies.

Fastening & position of the Baucher bit

The Baucher bit is fastened to the bridle using the short upper bars. The curve of the upper bars should point outwards, away from the horse's head.

The shape of the side parts means that the Baucher bit is more stable in the mouth and offers the option of lateral adjustment via the pressure on the horse's cheek. Another special feature of this side part shape is that the mouthpiece sags less downwards than with other bits, such as a loose ring snaffle, olive head bit, D-ring or full bit. Even when chewing, it can only be moved minimally towards the incisors and has an almost straight position in the horse's mouth, similar to a bar. This feature - in combination with the particularly thin mouthpiece - makes the Baucher SLIM bit suitable for all horses with little space in the mouth and/or a short mouth gap.

The Baucher bit can also be used as a bridle in combination with a curb bit. The straight position of the mouthpiece makes it easier to avoid a collision between the two bits in the horse's mouth and reduces the amount of space required in the horse's mouth.

Effect of the Baucher bit

The Baucher bit is used without a chin chain and has no leverage. Instead, when the reins are pulled, the bit moves more towards the corner of the mouth and works there. This has an uprighting effect on many horses. Watch our video to learn more about the effect of the Baucher bit:
