Spain meets Portugal – Black Serreta cavesson with optimized Spanish noseband and Portuguese Cortesia buckles

The IBERICO cavesson is the perfect fusion of Spanish functionality and Portuguese design. It is particularly light and has a truly wonderful fit. The flat, solid noseband is covered in leather and ensures a secure fit while allowing precise control of the lunge, rope and reins. This makes the cavesson ideal for lunging, working in hand and riding. Additional, unpleasant shearing forces are avoided because the noseband has no joints in the nose area. The noseband can be moved on the cheek strap for individual adjustment and prevents the cheek strap from slipping near the eyes.

The optimized shape of the nosepiece in the style of the Spanish Serreta fits a variety of horse noses of different breeds and sits securely even when your horse jumps for joy. The centrally positioned ring is rotatable and is suitable for buckling in the lunge line or a lead rope. The side rings with short pillars are suitable for buckling in reins and long reins.

The cavesson is hand-sewn in Spain. The high-quality metal parts are made in Spain and Portugal. Made of black, vegetable-tanned cowhide with gold-colored Cortesia buckles and black burnished noseband.

Combine cavesson with bit

Would you like to use a bit together with the IBERICO cavesson? We recommend using a semi-bridle in addition, with which the bit is simply buckled over the cavesson. This way, for example, you can gently get your young horse used to the bit. The semi-bridle, reins and bit can also be easily removed during the training session, for example if you want to warm up your horse by hand working on the bit and then lunge it with just the cavesson.

Size & fit of the cavesson Serreta IBERICO with three rings

The cavesson is made in the Iberian standard size - perfect for the long and narrow heads of the Iberian breeds, such as PRE, Andalusian or Lusitano. Thanks to the large adjustment range, in our experience it fits most horses with VB to WB heads. You can find the length of all straps in our size guide (see above).

Care instructions for burnished iron

Rust will form over time on traditional, burnished products or product components. This is due to natural oxidation processes and is not a quality defect, but rather an essential characteristic of this material. To maintain the dark color, it is recommended to occasionally rub the affected parts with a cloth soaked in olive oil.
