Cavesson in the style of the Spanish Serreta

The SERRETA model is the Spanish lightweight among cavessons. The flat, solid nosepiece is covered with leather and ensures a stable hold while allowing precise control. This makes the cavesson ideal for lunging and bitless work in hand, for example. Additional, unpleasant shearing forces are avoided because the nosepiece has no joints in the nose area. The outer rings are solid, with long pillars. This results in a slight leverage effect that enables very precise and fine work with the horse. The middle ring is rotatable with a short pillar for buckling the lunge line. The noseband can be moved on the cheek strap for individual adjustment and prevents the cheek strap from slipping near the eyes. The buckles on the cavesson are lined with leather so that they do not rest directly on the horse's skin.

Handmade in Spain. Made from natural brown, vegetable tanned cowhide with burnished iron fittings.

The nose iron has no Serrations / teeth like the traditional Spanish serreta.

Size & fit of the cavesson SERRETA

The cavesson is made in the Iberian standard size - perfect for the long and narrow heads of the Iberian breeds, such as PRE, Andalusian or Lusitano. Thanks to the large adjustment range, in our experience it fits most horses with VB to WB heads. You can find the length of all straps in our size guide (see above).

Care instructions for burnished iron

Rust will form over time on traditional, burnished products or product components. This is due to natural oxidation processes and is not a quality defect, but rather an essential characteristic of this material. To maintain the dark color, it is recommended to occasionally rub the affected parts with a cloth soaked in olive oil.
