effect of the full-length snaffle

The full-length snaffle, also known as a gag snaffle due to the shape of the side parts, is the classic bit for training young horses. When riding curved lines, the outer leg rests gently on the corner of the mouth, making it easier to explain lateral aids to the horse. The full-length snaffle has a more stable and calmer position in the horse's mouth and is therefore also suitable for hand or double lunge work, for example. It can also provide additional support for horses that break out over the shoulder.

Due to the particularly thin, 12 mm mouthpiece, the SLIM full cheek snaffle is suitable for horses with little space in the mouth and/or a short mouth gap.

The full cheek snaffle, like all bits with fixed side pieces, should fit tightly to the corners of the mouth so that the aids and the sideways effect of the legs can be given correctly. In contrast to a loose cheek snaffle, there should therefore only be minimal play between the corners of the mouth and the side piece.
