Alta Escuela style stirrups
Spanish stirrups made of burnished iron with a rotating suspension. The baroque curved stirrups and the geometry of the grooved tread give the stirrups their traditional Spanish look.
The stirrups have a particularly wide tread compared to most commercially available baroque stirrups. This reduces the risk of getting stuck and they can also be used with wider winter boots, for example.
The generous tread offers the forefoot a larger support surface than conventional stirrups. Riders who tend to only pick up the stirrup with their toes can particularly benefit from this and provide their feet with additional relief.
The rotating suspension for the stirrup leathers increases the freedom of movement of the legs and enables the finest aids to be given.
The stirrups are made by Lopez in Spain and are supplied in pairs.

Care instructions for burnished iron
Rust will form over time on traditional, burnished products or product components. This is due to natural oxidation processes and is not a quality defect, but rather an essential characteristic of this material. To maintain the dark color, it is recommended to occasionally rub the affected parts with a cloth soaked in olive oil.

Lopez
The more than 160-year history of Frenería y Romanas López
Frenería y Romanas López is a craft business founded in 1850 and based in Cortegana, Andalusia. The town is known for its many traditional craft businesses, which primarily serve the agricultural production in the region. The ancestors of the current owners supplied bits and spurs for local riders. At López, the love of craftsmanship and the secrets of producing high-quality metal goods have been passed down from father to son for five generations. Over the centuries, the blacksmithing skills and manufacturing processes have been constantly refined. Even today, López combines modern manufacturing processes with traditional craftsmanship. Without losing the craftsmanship knowledge, traditional products of high quality and contemporary variety are still manufactured.Spanish bits, stirrups and spurs
López has specialized in the manufacture of metal goods for Spanish and Portuguese riding styles, such as bits, stirrups, as well as plug-in spurs and vaquera spurs. The products produced by López at the Cortegana facility are marked with the “López” seal of quality. At Picadera you will find selected metal goods from López, such as broken bits (Baucher bit, Schenkeltrense, Kimblewick) and bar bits (Baucher bit, Kimblewick, Pelham, Baroque curb bit, Spanish curb bit), as well as Spanish vaquero spurs and Portuguese plug-in spurs.
