Stylish clothing at Picadera

Not only the horse equipment can reflect the love for the Spanish tradition, but also the riding clothes.

Picadera offers a range of traditional riding skirts, hats, boots, spurs and spur straps, as well as fine belts.

Chic riding skirts for the Vaquera

For show events, baroque shows or simply for leisure riding: the riding skirt Vaquera is not only elegant but also practical. It combines the advantages of trousers with the look of a Spanish skirt. It first came into fashion in 1900 and made riding much easier for women. The riding skirt was a milestone in fashion, as women were not supposed to wear trousers before the First World War. Furthermore, this invention reduced the snagging of clothes in the field. The riding skirt is available in four different colours.

Traditional Spanish headdress

Of course, the traditional headgear must not be missing. At Picadera there are classic hats and flat caps. Whether for protection against sun, wind and rain, as accessories for the favourite outfit, for everyday life or for tournaments: the hats and caps belong to the Vaqueros and Vaqueras. Made of wool felt, the hats are not only weather- and dirt-resistant, but also breathable and quick-drying. The noble satin lining nestles perfectly against the head and offers support.

Spanish riding boots, spurs and spur straps

The right footwear is also available at Picadera. The Spanish riding boots and ankle boots made of genuine leather ensure a pleasant foot climate and, thanks to the soft material, optimum wearing comfort - whether for stable work, groundwork or riding.

Spurs are a common riding aid to be able to perform exercises precisely with sensitivity. At Working Equitation and in the dressage arena, it is all about selective impulses. Working with spurs can be helpful for the horse to react more specifically to the aids, as a smaller area is addressed. At Working Equitation, for example, this can help with the slalom, which has to be mastered with flying changes in canter in the WM and WS performance classes. The side pass can also be executed more carefully with spurs.

There are very different models of spurs. Flat end spurs are usually flattened at the end of the thorn. Rounded end spurs have a ball that can rotate depending on the design. Rowel spurs are equipped with a small wheel on the spike. This type of spur can roll on the touched surface. There are variants that have to be fastened with a spur straps , others you simply put on your shoe or boot. At Picadera there are spurs with a rowel or ball made of stainless steel and burnished iron, as well as spur straps made of Spanish cowhide.

Spanish accessories

As a pretty accessory, there are belts made of high-quality Spanish leather with a simple silver-coloured buckle or a stainless steel buckle in the shape of the traditional Vaquero curb.

The perfect leather care

To ensure that the leather always remains protected, it must be greased regularly. This guarantees a long-lasting product, as it is less prone to cracking if the leather remains soft and supple. Another advantage is the shine, which immediately makes the material look much higher quality.

The natural leather soap from Extremadura ensures that stressed leather shines again. This leather care product moisturises the material and has a moisturising effect. It is applied to the leather with a damp sponge and polished with a dry cloth at the end. For even more intensive care, e.g. for historic saddles that require more care, the natural leather balm can be used afterwards. This balm forms a water-repellent protective film and keeps the material hard-wearing.
