Spanish bridles directly from Spain

The Spanish cattle herders, the Vaqueros, spend a lot of time in the fields. They herd the black fighting bulls and drive them from pasture to pasture. Their equipment must above all be functional and hard-wearing. The traditional vaquero bridles combine these two characteristics: they get by with the bare essentials, are simple and at the same time very durable due to their high-quality manufacture. They are made of brown or black cowhide.

Pure minimalism: In the original, there is no throatlatch on the Spanish snaffle. The noseband is usually guided through a loop in the bit strap. The so-called Mosquero, made of soft leather strips, is attached to the browband. It swings over the eyes with every movement. This also serves as a fly repellent and has a practical function as a baton. It tells you whether the horse is moving correctly. The Vaquero headband is of course also available without the Mosquero, because not all horses are used to the Mosquero swinging over their eyes. Even in the winter months, when no fly protection is needed, you can change the browband for a bit of variety.

Spanish bridle VAQUERO CLASICO

The bridle VAQUERO CLASICO is - as the name suggests - the classic among the Spanish bridles. The typical Spanish decorations - the piñas - are particularly attractive on this bridle. These are cone-shaped appliqués made of light brown leather that decorate the browband and the ends of the reins. Light brown decorative stitching rounds off the overall appearance. This bridle also does without unnecessary straps and buckles on the horse's head. What is not there cannot disturb the sensitive skin. All buckles are underlaid with leather. The Mosquero is attached to the browband and made of soft leather fringes so that it does not irritate the horse in movement.

This Spanish bridle is a highlight in any saddle cupboard and adds the finishing touch to a Spanish outfit. In Working Equitation competitions, for example, it is appreciated if the rider stays true to a traditional style in their outfit. But Vaquero bridles are also suitable for riding tours, because the mosquero reliably keeps flies away from the horse's sensitive eyes.

Although brown is the most popular colour in Spain, the Spanish bridle VAQUERO CLASICO is offered in two other colours: light brown and black. This means that the leather colours of the entire equipment can be matched if desired. The reins are stitched at the end and have piñas and decorative stitching to match the bridle. The length of the reins can be adjusted with a leather loop.
