Spanish baby Curb Bit with Mullen Mouth mouthpiece stainless steel
Vaquero Curb Bit made of stainless steel with Mullen Mouth mouthpiece and movable side parts. Due to the side piece ratio of 1:1, this Curb Bit has only minimal leverage, lies stably in the horse's mouth and is therefore also suitable as a training curb bit. Another pair of reins can be buckled into the curb eye, so that it can also be used with two pairs of reins - for example, for slow conversion to one-handed riding. For horses with sensitive mouth angles, we recommend the use of bit guards made of rubber, as is common with the Iberian curb or Pelhalms.
The baby Curb Bit is made in Spain.

Top beam 3.5 cm, bottom beam 3.5 cm (aspect ratio 1:1)
Effect & use of the Curb Bit with movable side parts
The Vaquero Curb Bit has a less direct action due to its movable side pieces compared to curb bits with firmly welded mouthpiece. This allows the horse to play more with the mouthpiece and rein aids arrive less directly. Another pair of reins can be buckled into the curb eye, so that it can also be used with four reins.
The anatomically shaped Mullen Mouth ported mouthpiece optimised by Lopez is gladly accepted by many horses, as it lies very evenly on the tongue and is cushioned by it. The Mullen Mouth mouthpiece , which is curved over its entire length, is particularly suitable for horses with very thick and fleshy tongues. Through natural oxidation processes and the formation of noble rust, the burnished iron stimulates salivation.
The right size for the Curb Bit
Under "Size guide" (see above) you will find the real dimensions of the Mullen Mouth mouthpiece. If you are unsure, we recommend that you compare the real dimensions of your existing bit with those of our mouthpiece to find the right size. Please note that the side pieces of the Curb Bit should be close to the corners of your horse's mouth.

López
The more than 160-year history of Frenería y Romanas López
Frenería y Romanas López is a handicraft business founded in 1850 and based in Cortegana, Andalusia. The town is known for its many traditional handicraft businesses, which mainly serve the agricultural production in the region. For example, the ancestors of the current owners, bits and spurs already supplied local riders.
At López, the love of craftsmanship and the secrets of producing high-quality metal goods have been passed down from father to son for five generations. Over the centuries, the forging skills and manufacturing processes have been constantly refined. Even today, López combines modern manufacturing processes with traditional craftsmanship. Without losing the knowledge of craftsmanship, traditional products of high quality and contemporary variety continue to be manufactured.
Spanish bits, Stirrups and spurs
Thus, López specialized in the manufacture of metalware for the Spanish and Portuguese equestrian styles, such as bits, Stirrups, as well as slip-on spurs and Vaquera-spurs.
The products manufactured by López in the plant in Cortegana are marked with the seal of quality "López".
At Picadera you will find selected metal goods from López, such as snaffle bits (Baucher bit , full cheek snaffle bit, Kimblewick) and ported & mullen mouth bits (Baucher bit , Kimblewick, Pelham, Baroque curb bit, Spanish Curb Bit), as well as Spanish Vaquero-spurs and Portuguese slip-on spurs. Stirrups in Spanish Alta Escuala style and Baroque stirrups complete our assortment.
