Baucher bit gold colored brass with low port

Baucher bit with solid ported mouthpiece made of gold-colored brass. Bit thickness 17 mm. With Spanish style flat sides. For horses with sensitive mouth angles, we recommend the use of bit guards made of rubber, as is common with the Iberian curb bits or Pelhalms.

 

Effect of the Baucher bit

The buckling on the bridle is done via the short upper trees. In combination with the unbroken ported mouthpiece the Baucher bit lies thereby very calmly and stably in the mouth. Many horses like the ported mouthpiece because it lies evenly on the tongue and is cushioned by it. This also results in a milder effect compared to single broken bits. The low port relieves pressure on the middle of the tongue. The slight play at the connection between mouthpiece and the upper trees also promotes chewing activity.

The Baucher bit is used without curb chain and has no leverage. Instead, when the reins are pulled, the bit moves more towards the corner of the mouth and works there. This results in a uplifting effect for many horses.

If you are unsure, we recommend that you compare the real dimensions of your existing bit with those of the Baucher bit to find the correct size. Please note that the side pieces should fit close to the corners of your horse's mouth.
