Effect of the bit
The elaborately crafted, movable side pieces Vaquero Kimblewicks offer a variety of buckling options for the reins. Depending on your preference, the bar effect - similar to a Ported Baucher Bit - or the leverage effect can be emphasized. It can also be used with two pairs of reins. The Vaquero Kimblewick is therefore particularly suitable for the transition from snaffle to Curb Bit.
In addition, this bit offers the option of attaching an additional ring for rein attachment to the lower beam (as is usual with Spanish curbs). You can find the matching rein attachment VAQUERO in our bit accessories.
The ported mouthpiece is readily accepted by many horses because it lies more evenly and quietly on the tongue than a snaffle bit. The low port relieves pressure on the middle of the tongue, making the Kimblewick suitable for horses with normal to fleshy tongues.

If you are unsure, we recommend that you check the real dimensions of your existing bit with those of our mouthpiece to find the right size. Please note that the side pieces of the Kimblewick should be close to the corners of your horse's mouth.
