Lightweight and dimensionally stable groundwork rope made of hemp in excellent, hand-sewn quality. Its length of 6 metres makes it suitable as a short lunge for lunging with the cavesson close to the horse, as well as for the groundwork at a slightly greater distance than with a conventional groundwork rope.

For particularly fine communication, the hemp groundwork rope is equipped with a leather buckle. This makes it easy to attach to the cavesson or halter and is particularly suitable for sensitive horses that react to the weight of a carabiner. This enables particularly fine aids to be given. In addition, unlike a carabiner, the buckle cannot leave any marks on the noseband of the cavesson. And if a carabiner is needed, it can be easily attached to the leather buckle.

The end of the hemp rope is covered with leather over a length of 10 cm to match the buckle.

Hemp ropes do not offer the same choice of colours as groundwork ropes made of synthetic fibres. On the other hand, they combine some outstanding properties that make them a practical companion in the stable and in the riding arena. Hemp is therefore experiencing a true renaissance, and rightly so. Groundwork ropes and lunges made of hemp are particularly durable and resistant. Since they absorb less water than cotton, for example, they retain their grip even when lunging in the rain.

And even if the horse gets overconfident at the lunge , the hemp groundwork rope performs faithfully: as it is flame retardant, it develops less heat than synthetic groundwork ropes when the hemp groundwork rope is jerked through the hands. This reduces the risk of burn blisters.

Compared to the natural material cotton, hemp has a higher abrasion resistance and is more sustainable in cultivation. A hemp field yields three times more than cotton cultivation on an identical area. Cotton also consumes much more water during cultivation. Groundwork ropes and lunges made of synthetic fibre, on the other hand, cannot be composted and require chemicals for production.
