Vaquero Curb Bit with rigid ported mouthpiece made of black burnished iron, as used Spain for training the young horse. The comparatively long upper beam ensures a particularly stable position of the bit. Due to the 1:1.2 side piece ratio, this Curb Bit has minimal leverage. Another pair of reins can be buckled into the curb eye, so that it can also be used with two pairs of reins - for example, for slow conversion to one-handed riding.

The ported mouthpiece with low port relieves the middle of the tongue, making the bit suitable for horses with normal to fleshy tongues. Through natural oxidation processes and the formation of noble rust, the burnished iron stimulates salivation.

The foam stirrup at the end of the shanks ensures that very mouth-active horses cannot catch the reins with their lips. It also prevents the reins from getting caught in the lower bars. The foam stirrup stabilizes the entire bit and gives it great balance - for precise action and a calm position.

Care instructions for burnished iron

Rust forms on traditional, burnished products or product components after some time. This is caused by natural oxidation processes and is not a quality defect, but an essential and desired characteristic of this material. To maintain the dark color, it is advisable to occasionally rub the affected parts with a cloth soaked in olive oil.
